wheel nuts
Rover 75 1,8 2004
My wheel nuts could do with replacing, the tyre fitter says as the have seen their best days. Euro car parts do not have a listing for them and said I should make sure when I buy that they are ok for alloy wheels. Any advice on what to buy and where would be greatly appreciated. Also I was thinking not having a locking nut. |

Don't bother with a wheel nut.
I found mine on eBay

They're bolts for the wheels.
eBay has loads, from shiny to black. Clicky this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_f...er+75&_sacat=0 Security bolts are generally considered more trouble than they're worth. Many of the ones supplied with the car have been replaced by standrad bolts. Anyway, nobody wants to pinch 75/ZT wheels nowadays. TC |

Just be careful they are right for your wheels. I had to have a new wheel bolt when Fast Fit lost one when fitting new tyres. They bought a replacement (well, a pack of them) but there was a clicking noise as I drove along which was caused by the new bolts being too long, even though Fast Fit thought they had bought them for a 75. My wheels are 17" Star Spokes so I don't know if this applies to other wheels. I bought the correct bolts myself. Unfortunately I gave the invoice to Fast Fit to pay so, although I have the full history of my car, I haven't got the cost or source of these bolts.
Probably best to check the length of the existing bolts. |

Be careful what you buy as said length and taper are important with alloy wheels. I purchased some on Ebay listed as being the correct type for my 600 and the new Rover alloys I had but the taper was wrong. The trader was unaware and change the listing after investigation. Chris S.

You can still buy the genuine ones from Rimmers Here....
The ones on ebay can differ in lengths, 28, 26 and 24mm thread length. |

As Dallas has posted, use genuine ones for wheels, avoid eBay as you don’t know what spec the bolts have been made to.
