Default Who Can Say They Have Heard There Spring Break?

Walked out to my car this morning, heard a bang and a bit of smoke from my tire, thought my tire had blown as i had a little golf ball on the side of it.
Any way was watching the tire to see it go down and it didnt then looked under and saw that the spring had broken!! lol

im so lucky i wasnt driving!!!

Some cars are fitted with tyre protectors on the bottom of the strut to prevent this kind of thing happening

It was reported recently on here that a member who had these protectors fitted still suffered the same as you

I have had a rear spring break at the bottom of the cup..sounded like a gunshot

Mine went as I set off, not very loud but uncoiled so that it went straight through the tyre as far as the wheel itself.. Then I had to back-up 30 feet! Doing that allowed the sharp spring end to cut the tyre into two entirely( en tyre ly?) separate halves! do'hhh

I now have tyre protectors fitted........................................

Wow, that could have been a real problem... It seems from other reported incidents that they break at low speed, better that than 70mph in the overtaking lane.

Mines went luckily, as i was coming back to it with a bucket of water when I was washing it, I thought, by the sound of it that someone had thrown a brick through the windscreen!
