Odd V8
Spotted this one in the car park today. It has a Mk1 ZT front, ZT boot lid and emblema but pretty much everything else is Mk2 75 V8: Exhaust, rims, auto box and interior (wood and typical 75 seats). The steering wheel actually had a rover logo.
Really liked it too. Should look stunning in daylight and without the winter sludge. I had to look it up in the swedish vehicle registry. Interestingly enough it is listed as a "MG 260" which raises the question: Is this a 75 V8 that has been modified or is it some kind of last off the line built of whatever was available? I have the VIN from the registry as well but it doesn't feel completely right to post that. Maybe the owner is registered here on the forum? Sorry for the image quality. The camera of the iPhone is not great even in daylight:

Hi
that looks the same spec as the ones Brown and Gammons (Mg Specialist in Hertfordshire) were selling a while back. A real odd mix of ZT and Rover V8. Same colour too! I think they were early proto's dressed up for sale

I would agree with Tapped - there were quite a few threads about that car, but well over a year ago now.

Pass the VIN to Tim in case he doesn't have it.

Yep, get the vin and I'll look it up. I will have it but will be the description against it which will be revealing.

I am not totally proficient in V8 chronology. Is that early for a 260 then? Pre-production car given the 75 interior?

That look very similar to Phils but it is not the same cars as he has LPG fitted on the side, his started as a ZT and was turned into a pre production 75 V8
No doubt there are a few odd ones like that out there. |

The vin is mid term of a ZT mk1 so was not technically pre-production but was pulled out of the line to have a make over and so become a very early R75 V8
