Default The Search is On !

Finally I can start my search for a 75 Connoisseur SE CDTi in earnest.
Colour:- Dark Blue, preferably, (or any dark colour, or Silver), with Sandstone leather interior.
Mileage:- up to 60K, but condition more important.
Now the important bit. I have £3K cash and an 02 Astra Elegance 1.8 to trade. So I’m looking at around £5K (can rob savings to cover Astra sale if non dealer)
I live in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, so if anyone knows of a good one, or spots one on a forecourt within about 100 miles (or further if it comes with recommendations), please give me a shout.

Not asking much I know, but ”if you don’t ask, you don’t get”

Thanks for reading, and wish me luck.

You shouldn't have too much trouble there, I found that sort of spec very common (not in the ooh how common way) when I was searching, try the autotrader site or member Derekosb he's very good at car finding

Hi there.

Colin knows me so well. Cannot resist a good search!

You did not specify whether you preferred a Mk 1 or Facelift, or Manual or Automatic.

Hows a black Mk 1 Auto suit you? 53 Plate (ignore the ad listing it as an 08!!) Bit higher mileage than your ideal, however it does have a good spec: Xenons, (Scratch the Wooden Wheel - It's a cover, just seen the photo in more detail - sorry), Serpents, TV/Nav (I think).

Perhaps a bit pricey at £5,490 (only the windscreen price, room for some negotiation) but the Autos are a bit dearer and it is well specced. Seems in reasonable shape although as always, photos are no guarantee.

It is in Dudley, about 80 miles from you.

Well, it's a start anyway. Opinions guys?

Good luck and I'll see what else I can find.

Thanks for the swift reply, as ever, this site never fails to amaze me.
It's a mk1 auto I'm after.
The one in Dudly looks good, I'll give them a call tomorrow.
Thanks again

Hi Derek
Thanks for taking time to search these out.
The dark blue 03 looks just what I'm after.
Thanks again.
David.

Saturday:- Went to look at above car, nice, but something didn't seem right, dealer selling from home.
So the search goes on.

Whats wrong with a dealer selling from home, it may be he works from home, and his home is his 'office' too.

My Pearl Blue pre drive CDT Con Se will be for sale in a couple of weeks.
I had it Mot'd on Friday but firstly need to get my private plate transfered to the V8 then I will post a for sale add, it is about as good a car as anyone will find for the year if I say so myself

Mine has Neptune blue personal line leather it has done 67k, is manual, and has a working FBH and Telestart the car needs absolutely nothing doing to it so just right for someone for the winter

I'm looking for a similar model to you Sponge.

I really want a black, auto, pre facelift, CDT, connoisseur SE in good condition on a 52, 03 or 53 plate.

I've been looking for ages. I'd passed over the Dudley one as it was listed as a manual and I hadn't looked at the photo's. I can't believe that after all these months, this was exactly what I have been looking for and it's right on my doorstep.

I went to have a look at it today but it's got a few too many chips and scratches for me (and for the price). Probably only cosmetic but an indication that it hasn't been loved & cherished.

... and the steering wheel colour mis-match looked really strange.

I'll keep searching.
