I think the oil change intervals on the V8 are 5,000 miles ?? I am inclined to think that using Mobil 1 at the price it is, could be a bit unnescessary at these intervals?

I use Castrol EDGE 0W-30, check Opie opie oils as they have a special on at the moment
Have you registered on the two-sixties site? Loads of V8 specific info over there

V8 oil
The Rover 1st choice was Mobil1 5/30 but I agree at the change mileage for this engine I think an alternative such as Magnatec 5/30 could save quite a bit without any sacrifice to quality or performance.

Oil is 5W30 fully Synthetic or use Castrol EDGE 0W-30 if you want the brand Dreadnought will only use
you need 5.2 litres Oil filters from Ford ask for one from a Mondeo V6 Finis number is 4628534 and in the box wil be a Motorcraft FL820S |

5w30 is what I use in the Yaris 1.0 too.
It costs £16+VAT for 5L of fully synth Fuchs oil from GSF. Fuchs is OE for most German cars so is decent stuff. Though don't buy too much else they'll end up putting the prices up lol. |
