Default S plate spotters..

A Sunday morning question for you S plate and very early Rover 75's spotters.

Here is a picture taken fron the launch information pack supplied to dealers in

1998.

It show that this Wedgwood Blue Connoisseur has a rain sensor fitted to the

centre of the windscreen.

The rain sensor was not made part of the Drivers intelligence until 2001.

So, do any of the very early 75's have the rain sensor wiper system fitted ??

According to the tech info I have, the rain sensing wipers were available as an option in 1999.

Certainly 110 FHO and VRE 500 in the 1999 video's both have them fitted.

Don't know if they found thier way onto early production cars though.

Another question for you S plate spotters..

Here is a picture taken from the first 1999 brochure.no 5616

It show the lower part of the door cards were not coloured to match the seats.

So, has any of the S plates with Personal Line got these door cards ??

And a picture from a 1999 brochure, but slightly later..no.5646 showing coloured lower door cards

Maybe it due to the fact that brochure interiors are not for complete production cars. These were mockeys for pictures purpose only?

In 2000, when my car was purchased, the rain sensors were not proposed in the options list (mine has all the options of its time installed)

Edit: Dave, I have the French Juin 1999 EO1624 brochure (Personalise your Rover 75): The lower door cards have matching colours to the seats and steering wheel rim.

The brochure pictures are "photoshoped" you can see the folds in the gear

gater are the same in each picture. So maybe Rover had not quite made

their minds up about door card colours.

In all the early Rover brochures there is no mention of a Rain Sensor, although

it is in the Dealer info sent out in 1998.

If it was not on the options list, I wonder how much they decided to charge

for the rain sensor.

Dave,
Here's a scan of the brochure I mentioned above (same page as yours, but in French - for the fun of it)
Noticed the Photoshoped pictures. Pictures of your brochure mirrored but with right things only... The guy they had was good
