I'll be honest it's not my cup of tea as I'd always notice the joins but well done on the individual touch.

If you take your time and cut the end at apposing 45 degree angles they bed together very tightly, use a small drop of superglue to ensure the joint is well bonded, allow to dry so that the seal has found it's natural holding point. Next step lightly dust the joint with some silver leaf & the joint is barely visible.

Silver job to be done tonight once I pop out lunch time to local art shop & get some more sheets.

Used the same process to join the door switches after fitting walnut.

Sounds like a plan. Any chance of some high res images of the joins once it's complete?

too much chrome does tend to cancel itself out, perhaps? I think it disturbs the balance of the dash.

Yeah I get your point less is more but when you actually sit in a 75 cabin there is actually very little chrome (the dials) it's all exterior. Chrome around 4 vents and four window switches is about limit I think oh and the clock.

It's down to individual preference I guess, like I would never have a red car, so I turned down the Ferarri my mate tried to give me

Hi Wayne,

I got the trim from Halfords, used 3mm around the vents & 2mm around the clock. You can pick it up from ebay cheap but at Halfords it's only £10 a roll. The silver leaf I got from art shop but that's me being over fussy with the joins. To be honest it's taking time and getting the cut angles right that gives it a neat finish.

If you do it let's have some pics

I know this has had a mixed response but I like it.
To my eye it finishes off the dashboard nicely.
