Well, the deal collapsed!

VirginMedia customers have this morning been greeted with "Sky Snooze" message instead of seeing the Sky News channel. Childish on Virgins part, but slightly amusing none the less

So, that's that then!

Sky One/Two/Three I can live with out, I will however miss Sky News

The Price won't go down for Virgin Media though!

Funny thing is Rich Sky 3 and Sky News are Free to watch on a Sky Box even without the FreeSat Card! Also Ch4 Movie Channels and about 120 other Channels. So I will stick with the FreeSat now!

Well it appears to be going a bit Pear Shaped for Virgin. Lunchtime news said they have already had hundreds of customers cancel as Virgin state no refunds as the loss of Sky is not a significant as per their terms and Conditions.
Sky now offers a very similar Package for Free Install of Dish, Card, Box, to include all the Packages except Movies & Sport (available as an extra) Phone Package with free Evening and WeekEnd Calls and Unlimited Up to 8mb BroadBand for only £24 per Month. (also seen ads for £26 per month before the Virgin/sky punch up) Thats a very Good Cheap Package, Very tempting.
For Ex Virgin Subscribers Installed within 48 Hours! Every one else up to 7 Days.

To me they (Virgin) had a limited appeal, as really is only those in the cable areas that can have thier "full package" everybody else just gets the "normal" broadband down the phone line + whatever deals they do for mobile and phone packages. And there is a lot of competition for that!
For all its bad sides, sky does (to me anyway) offer a better deal.

I hate to say it, but murdock does have too many fingers in too many pies to worry about Virgin. Fair play to Branson for sticking up for his customers, but the big boys usually always win (I was a BSB customer back in the 80's and we lost out when sky took over)

as I already mentioned, the new BBC service may be more appealing but I suppose its wait and see time.

And is a kick in the teeth for existing subscribers as we still have to pay over £40 for just the full tv package Good mind to tell them to cancel it, then sign straight back up in the wifes name!

Ah but you do get the Films for that but I know what you mean, Ive just switched, used Virgin Media for Broadband too before all this, now gone for whole Sky package with new equipment in Wifes name, here tomorrow, now thats service! Have had to give Months notice to Virgin though which as they can't supply advertised seems wrong! £26 New Box/Sat Dish All Basic Packages plus 8mb BroadBand with wireless Router and the Phone Package which is even cheaper than BT for chargeable calls rest of time Free!
They do want a extra £16 if you want the film & Full Sport package though!

I don't have the film and sport packages, as there is more than enough to watch on the others like bravo, men and motors (my favourite:lol: ) discovery, zone reality etc etc... there are a lot of repeats though, but its not hard to find something decent to watch

JDC - I hope you've researched Sky Broadband?

I was going to change to Sky when I was having issues with BY (as it was).

But, after reading many horror stories about their ADSL, decided to stay where I am.

This might come in handy:
