Default New member - Owner of #470 - and already with a question

Hi All,

I recently joined the Forum and I am the proud owner of a X-Power grey ZT-T 260. I have given a brief introduction of me and (more importantly) the car in here.

As mentioned in the linked thread, I am intending to give my beloved car a first service and I am still getting up to speed with sourcing the correct parts.

I have sourced a pollen filter from GSF but this part seems a bit large to me. I know that the HVAC had to be reduced in size on the 260s to accommodate the engine so I was somehow expecting a smaller filter.

The filter panel I purchased is 39cm by 25.5cm. I might be getting worried for nothing but I just want to make sure I have the correct before prior to taking the car apart.

I am sure many of you have already sourced a pollen filter for their 260 and can provide me with the correct part reference should this one be incorrect.

Thanks in advance,

Nick.

No Same size as all 75's & Zt's.

I see you bought Martin's Car from Reyland Motorsport. I am also an owner I would register over at the 260's also as there is also a lot of info for members over there.

Yes it was Martin's car. Such a nice chap and a guy who clearly knows his cars.

I can vouch for that! I went to see Russ for a spare key after buying a 260 in his neck of the woods. Car objected to the T4 poking around inside it! All kinds of fun and games trying to register the new key's remote PCB, tried 6 including the one from Russ' own tourer key! Eventually the car threw its dummy out of the pram and Russ had to phone Brian who found the whole thing most amusing! Ended up reconfiguring all ECUs, finally got the car to accept the new key.

Re the 260s, to get full access you need to return a questionnaire which will be emailed to you and either be a member of the MGOC or commit to joining.

The car is not without a few issues (where would the fun be otherwise):
- slight knock from the rear drive train on gear change (the usual suspect items will be checked during the abovementioned service)
- a temperamental dual zone temperature regulator valve (the one by the clutch pedal, not the heater valve on the plenum surprisingly).

Further mods planned:
- Source a rear bumper to complete the parking sensor installation
- Retrofit rear electric windows (car came with a pair of spare electric window mechanisms and matching door cards)
- Fit original 18” 11-spoke alloys (a set came with the car, but would ideally need refurbishing)
- X-Power exhausts (gotta try for the noise)

Nick.
Knock - most cars do have a slight knock as the play in the drive train is taken up on gear change/drive-off
Valve - rare for these to fail, just replace with a T-piece. Info on www.two-sixties.com

Parking sensor holes I believe are marked in the bumper.
Rear windows - T4 needed after installation
Wheels - yes, would look better than the current wheels
X-Power - rare but alternatives are Zero's

Hi Nick, and welcome....

I, (as well as some other Members) prefer fitting a Carbon Active Filter as it filters out smells, bacteria and certain fumes as well as pollen etc.

This is a link to the one I've recently purchased: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2011021910...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

It was the cheapest 'Carbon' one I could find, pictured below... (And most probably the best!).

Of course these are more expensive than the standard plain ones which you can get for as little as £6.00 odd on Ebay.

It's all personal choice I suppose.

Good luck and happy motoring in your new purchase!

I have registered to the twosixties forum but still waiting for my account to be activated. I believe there should be some sort of activation email required but I have yet to receive this email (and yes I checked the spam box).

I am not sure how I can fill the questionnaire if I am not able to log in, unless I am being daft. I will have a look at this again over the weekend if still no luck will pm Tim for guidance.

I am not yet a member of MGOC.

Nick.

Ceedy and Mangoman,

Many thanks for the eBay links. That is good information. Looks like the part I have will fit so I will use what I have, but I've made a note of the references for future use.

Cheers,

Nick.
