Happened to my father in law, 70 on dual carriageway, huge bang tyre shredded and car wanting to lurch every which way. Managed to bring it to a controlled stop, made a mess of the wing too. Scary stuff. Other one went overnight on his driveway. Both fronts.

Do the ZT's do this too?

I was waiting in a car park for my son, next thing "BANG" I got out and was looking for a brick and a big dent in the wing, that's what it sounded like to me, another ten minutes and I would have been on the way to York on a very bendy road (South Cave to Market Weighton if anyone knows it) does not bear thinking about.

On my Blue CDT I had three go
front off side with a bang and a destroyed tyre.
rear nearside with a bigger bang but driveable

on changing the rears i discovered the rear offside has also gone but silently or at speed no idea but probably when towing a Mini on my Trailer back from the Welsh hills

When repairing the fronts fit new to strut bearings as they are dirt cheap and it would be daft not to take the opportunity at that time also fit the protection kit it is not brilliant but better than nothing and also very cheap so good preventative maintenance.

Both rears on my V8 were broken and changed when the blower was fitted

I have just changed the rear spring on my Grand Scenic both snapped and I had not noticed

Mine went with a bang, back in May 2009, sat at a roundabout. Made me jump & wondered what the hell it was.

More than likely down to all the sleeping policemen and perhaps pot holes.
