i have just brought a 2002 `02` 75 classic cdti tourer

it drives very well but i have a vibe noise some times through the car at low revs and the orange light is on the clocks,does this mean that i have to change the brakes and when u get to a quarter of tank on the gauge,u are nearly out of fuel,can this changed easy

With your new diesel job, no doubt the oil-burner guys will be on soon to guide you, but it might be better to put more information on the forum. For instance the mileage, and last service. What do you mean by "the orange light" ? the low fuel light ? - there are a variety of warning symbols explained in the Owners Guide.

Fuel gauge is definitely not right, the warning light on the fuel gauge should light up when it has about 2 gallons left, well after the 1/4 tank mark. I have had mine stick once or twice in very hot weather after a fill up, (Italy)

Brakes have a life dependent on your style of driving, the "wheel spin to wheel lock" types will find they have a short life ! Discs eventually wear out and have to be replaced - my rears discs and pads have just been renewd today at 78k miles, fronts about 4 months ago. Old discs can cause vibration when braking as the discs can also get slightly distorted over time. Front discs are vented, rears normally not, and not too expensive.

you are best to check the pads for wear as they may be fine or new even...but if the sensor hasn't been changed at the same time the light will remain on

Below what revs do you get the vibe noise?

Is it just a noise or is there any feel that comes with it?

Does it come from the front or rear?

Is it high or low pitch?
