Well - I've just done 500 miles in my 75 1.8 NASP on one tank. Its averaged 44.8MPG and an average speed of around 46mph (MPG and average speed both reset when I brimmed it with fuel)!
Otherwise I normally get around 380-400 from a tank from just plain urban driving! |

Mine is a 1.8 T, I get on average 36 mpg going to and from work at an average speed of 30 mph 8 miles there and back, with no stops. Went to Hampshire some weeks ago and averaged 46 mpg at average speed of 60 mph. Filled up to the brim last fill and just done 120 miles on a quarter of a tank.

1.8 Non Turbo - i get 350-375 miles per tank. Lowest mpg is 29, highest is 33mpg. Average i get is 31mpg. Mostly short journeys (5 miles) with a few heavy foot moments.
In comparison the same journey in my 2.5 v6 auto with light foot is only returning 23-24mpg |

I generally get around 35 - 38 mpg. I always try to keep between the 50-60 mph mark as any more than that and the mpg drops quite dramatically. A mixture of town and motorway driving.

Hi All
I'm still to do a brim to brim test but the trip computer was showing over 40 mpg on it when doing between 60 and 70 mph while driving back from Guildford the other night. By the time I'd got home through some traffic the average had dropped to 36.5 mpg Would be interesting to know how bad your trip computers show when idling in traffic, I reset mine whilst sitting in traffic on the A406 and it was showing 13.5mpg and I also saw 10.5 briefly the other day! |

the only real way to calculate mpg is a brim test.we all get to know our cars over a period of time and what we expect economy wise.the trip computer is what the manufacturer wants you to believe
