ZT260 / 75 V8 Heater Control Valves
Hello all, I've been doing some rough work trying to find a solution to the Heater Control Valves failing on 260s - it's seemingly a common issue, and with the new unit being £300 I'm keen to bring the cost of this down to a more 'normal' level.
Can any 260 owners please let us know below if you've had one fail, if so the failure mode and any other details. We're working on a 2 part solution - a new valve the user can replace themselves if theirs is leaking but the controller is OK, and a controller to replace theirs if the valve is OK. Cost of the parts will be in double digits rather than triples, and will of course be fully warranted. The repair will be easily DIYable, and for those unable to do this it'd take less than 30 minutes for a mechanic to swap the bits and pieces over. Thanks all! Mat

How would that be any different from the so-called "Black Olive" replacement valve available on the two-sixties?

Can't think it could end up being much different ? .
The olive remedy is a central heating valve driven by the existing controller,( which seems to be the same controller as all other zeds??? ).. I made my own using a 3 way valve from fleabay. So basically the same as a BO. C.
