Default A118C-B4OC Camera problem.

Today noticed no power to above camera i fitted about 2yrs ago, blown fuse. After 2 more blown fuses removed camera. Has anyone else had this problem,as a few on here were purchased at the same time.
Not impressed with design,to remove front part of camera,it needs to slide back, but can't slide back until cable cover part is removed, which was a bit of a problem in small space behind mirror.
Now the good news, was going to purchase a replacement when g/son told me, that one i bought him at the same time, is still in the box.

in the three years I have had both of mine, the only issue I had was athe hardwire power supply kit. A cheap one which would cut out at any time it got slightly warm. I had blamed the camera, but ruled that out using the basic power supply that comes with them. Replaced with a Nextbase 'branded' one, fine ever since.

The design is very good I thought. Remove the cable cover, disconnect and slide off? That is how my front one is mounted. The rear doesnt utilise the cable cover, so just slides off (mounted on high level brake light cover, with the cable coming out front the roof lining).

Thanks Alan, should have added that camera is in the x-trail. I have fitted it too close to the mirror, just thought at the time it would be easier if i could get it off by sliding forward.

As Alan has suggested, check power supply John; are you using the supplied cable and adapter?

I had a similar problem but never figured it out.

I bought 1 for my ZT and 1 for my wife’s qashqai at the same time. Mine suffered the issue of constantly blowing fuses after around 8 months. I tried a mix of my camera and wife’s power lead, her camera and my lead, my car, her car etc. Any combination blew the fuse in my car but same combo worked fine in her car.

They were cheap again so I bought a 3rd and it worked fine out of the box, but never got round to fitting it properly and it remains in the box still.

It has worked perfectly for 18mths,but for some reason blew a fuse about 3wks ago. Plugged in different camera with new fuse to socket O.K.,then plugged in problem camera, blew 2 fuses.
Never changed lead,still with original.
When i get replacement off g/son,i will post it off to anyone who wants it.

Fixed. Problem was the cable,to be more precise, plug on cable.Something has come loose inside of plug, rattling. "Borrowed" cable off g/sons' set, everything O.K. How something can come loose inside the plug should be a mystery, but i have it in a Nissan x Trail "Tractor".

Took the old plug apart last night,to find that the thin plastic wall between the 2 outer springs(neg) and the centre spring (pos) was shattered.
