No better, no worse, but I feel fine anyway. Its as if they are desperate to find something badly wrong with me and just keep on trying

Evidence of an ancient stroke.

A naturally enlarged prostate due to age, but not a problem.
Then there is the mild T2.
Latest is low kidney function, which they just haven't found a proper cause for yet, I'm still waiting for the result from the MRI scan of that. 7 appointments over three weeks in July, from blood tests to the MRI.

My renal consultant has stuck her nose into the gastro issue I had last year and wants me to have the camera again in two years. She also put me on .25 Alfacalcidol every other day and I have been quite physically sick on the 3 of the days I have taken them, but the doc says they are essential and no alternative, so stick with them if I can.

They have just decided my bloods are OK, so I can stop taking the iron tablets, which they put me on 12 months ago after that major oesophagus blood loss.

I'm getting an impression that I am very sensitive to meds. I had problems caused by the iron tablet, the doxazonsin and no maybe the alfacalcdol too.

The only actual problem I notice, is my lack of stamina. I used to easily walk for miles.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

An update..

My MRI is now a CT scan, will be the first week in September. My wife received a lovely phone call from the urology specialist surgeon who we saw a few weeks ago.

I found out my wife secretly emailed him with concerns to the amount of pain that I have been in recently, struggling to walk etc. He was replying to her email with a personal phone call, how amazing was that. Not only I have to thank my super incredible amazing wife for thinking of me, also the top urology specialist for taking time out of his day to personally speak to my wife, how caring is that...

Reading between the lines, there may be cause to believe the pain I feel down my legs into my feet could may well be the sciatic nerve. The trigger point for the pain seems to be originating from the testes, so what ever is going on, I just hope it shows up on the CT scan.

It’s normal to be anxious about the scan, but remember Wes, it’s a diagnostic tool to help the specialist identify the causes. When he knows the result, I expect he will ring you to discuss it further. A CT scan looks for different things to what an MRI sees. Keep us posted.

Yeah, just a bit Phil... I had a CT scan once before, that was for the head pain; not a nice experience I can tell you. You are placed in a small tunnel type contraption, I'm sure they can send you to the moon in one; they even communicate to you behind a screen while they zap you with radiation.

The advantage of a CT scan is that it’s more pleasant for the patient than an MRI. The CT scan can take as little as 5 minutes to do, but each CT emits powerful radiation equivalent to 200 X-rays per session. I hate having a CT scan and can appreciate your anxiety. The MRI builds up images made from magnetism and radio frequency, no radiation is involved, but it’s more noisy and can take up to an hour inside the tube. An MRI is more costly. Next week it’s my turn, I am having a full body vascular scan, no X-rays/no radiation

All the best for today.

Yes, its gets you worried while they sit in another room safe and sound behind a large window, they talk to you via a two way radio, play you your own choice of music; and hand you a panic button in case you freak-out.

I had a MRI 10 years ago on my back Phil, as they thought I may have a trapped nerve, horrendously noisy as you say. If only they captured my pelvic area and not being so focused on the nerves in the spine, I may have been fixed by now.

Now 10 years later Phil, they are doing what I asked them to do in the first place The Southampton specialist made a phone call to my wife a few weeks ago, he reckons he's going to get to the bottom of my pain once and for all; lets just hope he does. I have to say, Southampton hospital seems to be leaps and bounds ahead of Bournemouth and Poole hospitals; so far anyway.

Right then, I'm off to get my T4 session done, lets see what error codes I throw up.

I will have to get Dr Brian to translates the data.

Got home an hour ago and what a bundle of laughs that was/wasn't, to be fair it went ok, nurses were lovely; and it was easy parking.

The car park machine prints your registration plate on your ticket, how cool is that. I also cant believe how HUGE Southampton hospital is, its like a city all of its very own; I've never been there before.

I forgot about the barium drink, and the intravenous contrast dye, I reckon I'm somewhat toxic; best I get some hazard warning labels.

Now the waiting game, waiting for the results.

I have now had three MRI's so I guess something of an old hand...

Nowt to it really 20 minutes, very, very noisy and you have to keep very still. The operators are fairly patient and will try again if you do move. The give you ear defenders to help keep the noise out and it can be a bit disorientating, not knowing if its you, or the machine is moving - its you and the table, the machine stays put. The defenders include a pipe to feed audio to you and you can speak to them. They also give you a panic button (a rubber bulb to squeeze), just in case.

I have had skull, prostate and kidneys scanned most recently. I am still waiting for the results from the latter MRI. Any problems, they let you know quickly, it has been a while, so likely no problems found.
