Points, Condenser, Rotor-arm, Distributor cap (Bosch - Lucas), Idle mixture screw, Jets, Floats, Mounting flange, Diagram etc etc...

I never got my head around fitting points. I tried and had to call a local mechanic as I mucked that job up too! Would love to know how to even after 30 years lol!

Hi all, Brings back memories, Skinful of beer & Curry Saturday night, Bacon Butty & tea Sunday morning, THEN Plugs, Points and Condenser cleaned or replaced, timing set by light bulb.Happy Days.

....................... and when you've set the points, cleaned the plugs, cleaned the carby bowls and adjusted the float heights, there's the little matter of balancing the carbs! I found that a plastic tube direct to the mouth of the carb and the other end to my ear worked well! (Until someone blips the throttle and sucks out all your ear wax, followed by bits of brain!). If anyone needs a pair of vacuum gauges, I have an almost "new" set in the garage!
