Great photos Andy, they both look like they are really enjoying themselves.

Our little Yorkie still has swollen sore bits, been to the vet again who has now given her a big whopping anti-inflammatory injection, more antihistamines and some more antibiotics.

They still reckon its a hypoallergenic skin compliant, her tummy has gone pink again which is a good sign, we just hope the swelling isn't cancer. They will do a biopsy in six weeks if the swelling hasn't gotten any better, she is ok otherwise; but you can see its getting her down/depressed.

I just wish dogs could talk...

It would be easier if they could talk Wes, hopefully your little one will be on the mend, I am being pawed as I type, Meg is after some of my Guinness!!

Its hard on us when our pets are distressed or suffering.

I still get flashbacks to when Jessica accidentally ran over one of the dogs in June this year. The injuries were severe with internal bleeding. We took the dog to the vet in the 4x4. I asked the vet to come out to the car as she was in too much pain to be moved. He said she would need major surgery and intensive care with no guarantees.

I did not want to put her through more pain, lengthy treatments. She was 13 years old. I made the difficult decision to ask the vet to put her to sleep. He went back to his office and on return he had a large syringe filled up with a green coloured general anaesthetic, a fatal dose. He gave me the option of not staying, but I stayed to comfort her........ Anchy stood up and looked ahead, then her eyes closed. The injection was administered intravenously into a main blood vessel in one of hind legs. She was very brave and quiet, within seconds of the injection, she went down drawing her last breath. It was that quick and peaceful. The vet told me how difficult it is for him to put an animal to sleep. He said it’s something he hates doing even when there is no other choice.

We drove Anchy back to the house and she is buried in our animal cemetery. I was tearful and upset. I sometimes wonder if I hadn’t been with her in those final moments, if I would not be getting the flashbacks of that fateful day. My apologies for writing it up, maybe it will lessen the flashbacks.
