Very good they are.

If you sign up to Top Cashback you get money off, which is how I do it.

This year I paid £60.

They do short term european cover.

RAC are able to collect caravan from site, and bring the lot back, with their special cover. It includes Camping and Caravan Club membership in the deal. Both car and caravan are covered for breakdowns.

£121.?? for the year. I am still though looking at alternatives.

Green Flag no free membership and the car if solo would have to be broken down not far from the caravan site - £162.40

AA say they would abandon the caravan on site, unless attached to the car at time of breakdown.

AXA - I didn't get as far as asking for a price, but caravan has to be attached or abandoned on site, car taken home.

Aviva, who use the RAC said their cover only includes - if caravan attached to car, but understanding the implications - they were going to investigate further. No cost given for what they could offer.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

I have just spoken to them and they cover a caravan if its attached for recover of both back to home, but if the caravan were on site it would be left there.

I just used the link. Put in my vehicle registration, only to be told "We're sorry, but the vehicle you have entered is not eligible for European Breakdown Cover."

My car is a 14 year old Tourer.

I've just tried the site out of interest.]

Their UK cover accepts my 14 year old cars, but European cover fails after the car is 10 years of age.

It would worth checking all the restrictions of the RAC "special cover" for caravaners to make sure it would cover your needs.

Thanks...

I have been to that link and run through their online quote system. For exactly what I was quoted over the phone, at £121.?? the web site quotes me £149.99. Or £109.49 had been a CCC member, which I am not.

The £121.?? figure (actually £121.54) I was quoted I was told, would include membership of the CCC as well. Membership of the CCC alone, costs £40 for the year.

So much cheaper to ring them and get a quote. The RAC was the one which failed to respond to my email enquiry, asking about the situation with - breaking down with the caravan already on a site.

Was told last year that they only cover cars upto 16 years old, but can not see any mention of age this year, so going to phone them to make sure. I have never had to call them out in around 7 years, so might go for me I hope. Will let you know.
Got the answer to the above. No they do not cover anything older than 16 years. So I am now on the hunt for a new company.
