I did, yes. My variable GOBE filter. To be honest, I probably didn't need it as it wasn't very bright, but it was already on there so went with it.

I got a remote for the camera a week or so ago. I don't know how I managed without it!
Before I had a remote shutter release I used to set the self timer and also put the mirror lock function on for any long exposure work.
Remote release does make life easier though

I've been in the studio today having some tuition in setting up various lighting systems, modifiers and backgrounds.
It's been really helpful as I now have my own studio lighting set up and am moving off speed lights into more advanced studio lighting heads.

Looks like we have both had a productive photographic day.

Yes, I did the same!
I only decided to get a shutter release when I was sat on the beach, trying to catch shots of the waves breaking on the rocks..

Woo, that sounds interesting!
I look forward to seeing the results!!

Love the almost monochrome look to this with just the light from the lighthouse adding a point of colour

Cheers Jeff.
It was almost dark when I took this! I think that added to the lack of captured colour.
I was really hoping to see some bigger waves. I've yet to see myself but apparently waves quite regularly go over the top of the lighthouse!

If they do that I think I'd be inclined to stand somewhere different

Yesterday, I was sat on my favourite stone, watching the sun go down. The sea was very rough but the sky was beautiful.

I had my camera set up on my tripod, remote shutter in hand, waiting for some pretty waves.

Suddenly, a large wave rushed up to where I was sat. Great, I thought and hit the shutter. I missed the big splash, however...

The water kept coming, I started to get a bit concerned but stayed put.
The water rushed up and I hit the remote...
The water missed me and my camera by about two feet!!

Thanks Jeff!

LOL, no, I took this in early evening, just as the sun was going down.
I love it here. It has to be my favourite place to sit and relax.

We have had thick cloud for days, but I cannot wait to do some star photography here. Brecon is just a short drive away. No light pollution there!
