Tailshaft
Greetings from Down under. I own one of the 17 260's, (all facelift versions) that were officially imported by MGR into Australia. I've owned mine since 2007. The tailshaft needs replacing. It literally just snapped. No new ones available I'm told by my mechanic. Does anyone know of any 260's currently being wrecked ( I think you call it breaking) or if there might be another source of obtaining one.
I've been told that my only alternative is to have one fabricated. The tailshaft also damaged the heat shield, so ditto. Cheers, Lewis |

That's bad luck Lewis, I think the best thing would be for you to repatriate the poor fellow back to Blighty, I could look after it for you?
Alternatively, hang around for one of the experts to come along and they will advise on the best way to proceed. BTW, try to use English on this forum, old chap, it's real name is a prop shaft!! Phil |

Not cheap, but still available new:
http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID004179 How badly is yours damaged, they are pretty easy to repair, plenty of companies in the UK that could rebuild yours, im sure there will be some in AUS too.

Do Rimmer post abroad Andy?
Alternatively, do they publish weights for the parts, to allow Lewis to sort out a courier? |

Pretty sure they do worldwide, I have never seen any weights advertised though, not far from me if the OP wants me to collect and ship on his behalf.

Is it a Manual, as MGR exported a few ZT 260 Auto's over there.

Tailshaft ( propshaft )
Thanks gentleman. Will follow through with Rimmers. And get a quote on local repair. Mine is a manual. To my knowledge only one auto in OZ.
Cheers, Lewis |

Dont want to rain on anyones parade, but im almost certain when you try and order that its going to say NLA.
Rimmers site is turning into a Lakeside minis job, where everything is in stock until you find out otherwise! |
