Default Check engine light when braking

My 2005 75 CDTI Auto has developed an annoying fault it started with it loosing power and refusing to rev above 2000 when going up steep hills it could sometimes be cured be lifting off then flooring the accelerator and always by stopping and restarting the engine
Today it has decided to flash the check engine light every time I brake or let the revs drop
My guess is a fuel issue either blocked fuel filter or failing in tank pump (it’s only got one being a 2005 model)
Anyone on here hot any ideas what is wrong?

Replace the fuel filter, and check the connection to the LP sensor on the fuel filter head.

Also make sure the pipework is sound to the EGR

Failing that it's T4 time

The least like thing will be a faulty pump, the single ITP is exceptionally reliable
