Default Another victim of the recession

Well, we had to call in the receivers tonight after over 48 years of repairing cars, vans and any other vehicle that came our way. Primarily we are commercial vehicle bodybuilders but no ones buying trucks at the moment. I've been there for over 32 years and feel really sad, especially for my lads.
Being General Manager I'll get a few weeks work helping the receivers shut it down but I'll certainly be long gone before Christmas.
Anyway, I'll be hanging on to T108, my CDT, but I'm afraid the Stag will have to go.

Nowt I can say to help but the best of luck to you and yours.
Been there, done that, it's NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-, but very often there's something round the corner.
Best wishes from Mick.

As Zeb says above, sad news indeed. No fewer than three of my friends have had similar news this week . Very scary at the moment

I was working in a garage 8 years ago and they called in the receivers. (31 October 2000) Redundant at the age of 30! I had went there from school and it was the only place i had worked, not a very good feeling at all and i sympathise with you. For me it ended up as the best career move of my life although it didn't feel like that at the moment. Good luck for the future

Very sorry to hear your news.
I do hope you can find alternate employment soon.

I have to make 5 Staff redundant purely to keep our profits running at current levels.
Rough times at the moment, I'm afraid.

Default Is it the end?

I was the other side 31 years ago. I was appointed to supposedly disassemble and close down a large Datsun dealership in Lancashire. 12 months on it had traded it's way out and was a successful entity.

Perhaps with the Banks, now all but state-owned and a government poised on the revival of Keynsian economic strategy, your receiver may be either unkeen or secretly forbidden to crystalise your debt from their balance sheet! Try and determine if they can see a way for it to trade through?

I should add equally my sympathy for you and your families current disposition and wish you all good luck and a fair wind.

What can I say. It's really scary out there in the real world at the moment. Perhaps we'll get the chance to make a few politicians redundant in 2010.

All the very best for the future.
