We have only just got home. Jake's car through the belt off 91 mile from home. We have had to leave it at a services until tomorrow. What a rubbish end to a great weekend.

Doh

Why did you let me drive on then after we spotted one another on the A1 last evening

After all I had the tools and a new belt in the boot too !!

It could have been worse, it could have happened on the other side of the channel I suppose.

For a wonderful weekend. Many thanks to Actros for getting me there - and back, thanks to his brilliant driving, and many thanks to MarinaBrian and Trikey for making my car better than it was before. To Ian and Jan for fantastic organisation to make it possible.

Great to meet you all. Look forward to the next one.

Hi everyone
Thanks to everyone, especially Ian and trikey for making this trip so special : Loved the time in Holland and finally putting faces to everyone we met. Great crowd! Journey home was a smooth one, apart from Dartford tunnel and the A1 shut at Bawtry. (Did anyone notice the poor road surface on the A1 compared with the Dutch/ Belgian and French roads) Total journey time 13.5 hours: Total mileage yesterday 475 all on 2/3 of a tank. I'll work out mpg later, but it must be well over 50. Basic club means no gizmo's like the rest of you!

Thanks Bri, i know you would have helped, but we stopped at the services, had a coffee then a girl came to us asking if we had jump leads as her car would not start. It did not work as it was the starter motor stuck. Then I got my tow rope out and pulled it off which got it started. By this time you would have been miles away so there was no way I was asking you to turn around.
We have just abandoned it there and he is going to get it recovered. It also spat the belt off as we went to set off again.
They came home with us so got home a lot later than expected.

Great weekend tho , and it's something to talk about in years to come.

Gary.

Well we made it home just after 21:00 last night, 740 miles covered without issue, I actually prefer driving on the European roads (Even when I manage to get us all lost &#129315

I just want to say a massive thanks to everyone who made the trip, the Dutch folk who made us all very welcome, and of course Ian and Jan for their hard work and time in organising this little jaunt.

This was for us, the best meet we have attended without exception, and to echo what Brian has said, it doesn’t matter one jot about the cars, it’s about the friendships that just keep getting stronger.

Sept 2020 anyone?
