O rings
I read somewhere on here that someone was looking for different O rings for the metal thermostat. Would some kind soul point me in the right direction, please.

the rings that will come with the stat will be fine and i would fit the stat as it is.they will come in the parcel separate unfitted to avoid stretch . you can get some made out of more resiliant material on the bay.they are the same number size as kaiser supplies which i believe are an imperial size not metric. you need to look online for a specialist oring supplier uk.i cant remember the name of the uk supplier (ebay) that i bought mine from in the stronger material .the material is the same as used on the upgraded seals for the coolant expansion tank if you do a search on here you will find it and also the material used by other members to try on the plastic thermostats. as said i would fit the stat (well lubed with bp red rubber grease ) as it is.mines working fine and get yourself a spare stat as kaiser recommends not an equivalent type.oh and when you do change the stat use the head gasket sealant as used on the porche vehicles they mate together their heads.pricey but well worth it as this is what kaiser used i believe. ...regards xsport.
