no front indicators/fog lights since doing abient temp sensor
changed my ambient temp sensor. had to disconnect the plug for the indicators and fog lights in the n/s/f wing to resistance check the wirings for the temp sensor because it was playing up. plugged the plug back in and left my work and have no indicators or fogs on the front? unplugged the plug and plugged it back in again and still the same? its 100% connected properly.
I also now have self levelling headlights which didn't work before. strange! any ideas? |

Unplug the wiring loom again, spray some crc electrical cleaner into it and see if it fixes the issue . Seems it could only be a bad connection or damaged wiring ?

"You have scared the com network"
I've similar probems (power fold mirrows won't, ATC digital temp. setting goes from "22 C" to "Er"), after I replaced a blown side light bulb after a Canbus error. I'll try the battery disconnect (30 mins) and let the forum know results.
Thanks in advance. |

"You have scared the com network"
Thanks suzblu.
My problem is, mine's a facelift and the Haynes book only covers mk1 but it's supposed to be 1999 - 2006. The Owners handbook lists F4 as "screen washer pump" only. The nearest to your description (in the Mk2 Handbook) is F11 "mirrows, ATC, audio" I've checked F11 (multimeter) and it's fine. Did the battery thing but still have the same problem. Any help from anyone would be appreciated. p.s. no canbus error shown. |

Get a copy of rave Can bus is not issue here but one of the other 2... Sounds like you are taking the bus voltage below threshold... Disconnect your adaption and do the full 30 min battery off again.... if problem clears you have the answer... It's the only thing that connects the faulting systems..

"You have scared the com network"
Thanks klarzy but none of that has changed. I've changed the ATC and got RAVE but the ATC diagnostic showed no faults. RAVE indirectly suggests that the ATC is in default mode. The drivers door mirror control (folding) has also reverted to the passenger mirror adjust on start up but can still be used for the driver's mirror adjustment, is this a default mode?
The original symptom occurred whilst driving back from Leverington (A1M) when the side light failed and then cleared then failed etc. and this continued for the 2 hour drive. Could the BCU or ECU fault/error register be full and needs to be cleared? Any help would be appreciated. I do worry that this great British marque will no longer be servicable because the Engineers will no longer be alive, anywhere in Europe, to help. |
