I've already got my fingers crossed for the in tank pump being OK.
Maybe it's just me (us!) but is there no sympathy for all things mechanical anymore? Or is that that everyone is now so brainwashed into buying new stuff every few years that the idea of how to "look after" things so that they last has vanished? Or, in your case, is it just that your good lady likes to make you feel useful by letting you fill up the car . Andy. PS. My good lady does the same thing. |

My wife borrowed my 260 a couple of months ago as she was picking up some mates and there wasn't enough room in her Mini.
When it came back she had apparently touched a kerb, the wheel looked like a Dinosaur had eaten some chunks out of the rim and the tyre was completely knackered. I tried to get the wheel repaired but it was also distorted. So a second hand wheel and a new tyre cost me as much in repairs as she probably spent on the shopping trip I agree on the no mechanical sympathy, the other one that annoys me she puts the hot tap on for a few seconds and I come home when she has been home all day with the heating on high and the windows open ''for some fresh air'' |

You all need to ask yourselves why your wives cant be bothered filling the car up. I've never sent my old man his car back empty

No thanks....
Mrs B has not been able to drive for a couple of months health-wise, and that’s been driving me up the wall, particularly as her car has been sitting idle for most of the time.....

Well, Mrs MSS not only fills up the car regularly, she checks the tyre pressures on hers once a months.
She also reminds me when her daily needs a wash. |
