Default Seat recovering

Hi all,

While idly pondering life with a 75 I wondered if anyone has re-covered the much more available (electric) leather seats with cloth.

Have to say I prefer cloth seats and in a recent thread I found out that sometimes there were cloth heated seats.

So, I wondered about swapping over from leather to cloth.

Anyone done this?

Anyone know of a "good bloke" who does this - a bit like Tom Hobbs with his sills?

The weather's turning colder so I quite fancy a nice - quickly warmed - botty. It'll bring back fond memories of my 244 Volvo

Andy.

Hi again Andy,

There is an excellent chap near me in Baldock, Herts (Fred Pound) but ....

a) he is always manically busy so you would have to wait ages

b) he isn't local to you

c) doing everything sounds kinda expensive!

Probably best to look for someone breaking a car that had the Cloth / Memory / Heated seats.

oh, and ....

d) sorry fella .... you can't have mine!

Good luck

John

Changing seat covers is fairly straightforward, I'm sure there is a guide on the forum somewhere. I have done it several times.

You can probably pick up a set of manual cloth seats for next to nothing and swap the covers over.

Cheers.

A bit more searching on here has uncovered - from a few years ago:

Trim Tec at Wednesbury

All wheel trim in Witney.

Durham Upholsterers

Rimmers is mentioned for covers and then a bit of DIY...... The covers are either no longer available or £260 . Don't think I'll be going down that route .

Andy

PS. Or maybe just these:
