What do you think BX05
Hi folks,
Recently a neighbour introduced himself to me,whilst I was working on my drive getting my laid up resting - 05 ZTT Cdti + slowly back on the road . Anyway long story short he's an enthusiast had seen my car not moving for months and asked me what was what, apparentley he had previously clocked my Reg and with discretion (just first 4 digits BX05) - asked on some facebook forum "thingy" and was told it was a " Press Car " ??? March 05 just as it all ended .I bought it eyes wide open December 05 from an independent major dealer with 28 miles yes 28 miles on the clock pre registered to MG/Rover and had assumed it was a demonstrator. - Anyway does anyone know if there is any truth in this ? It does have more extras than the usual + spec Thank Paul Last edited by crazy frog; 24th January 2017 at 23:45.. Reason: Text edit |

Mine is a BX05 batch of cars, like yours registered in March 2005, just a month before it all ended.
The service book has a stamp for MG Rover fleet. I think they were in such dire straights, they were pre-registering like mad to get the numbers up. Either that or pre-registered cars to get the numbers up for the plate change. Looks better for the numbers sold. Think that's all there is to it. |

Have a look in your handbook, it will be stamped press garage if it's a genuine press car.

Ive had 2 MG ZTs with BX prefix and both were just staff cars. One was a 54 plate and the other an 05 plate.

I have a BX54 and the book is stamped MG Rover Fleet Vehicles. It has almost every optional extra possible.

I Think from some research I did a while back BX--X-- registrations may have been for employee's who worked in the press garage. Mick
