Remove a brake light (easy to get to) and with the ignition on depress the brake pedal. If the bulb out warning still doesn't light up then it's not working.

Yes I know it seems like I'm stating the bleedin' obvious, but it might help eliminate any problem with the warning light from the enquiries.

Yep, not a thing, I have replaced the offending bulb now so the light should not come on, I just wondered why it didn't when the bulb blew.

Might sound weird but if you get chance remove the dash binacle and separate it. Mine had some plastic covering the bulb out and airbag lights.

Mine is working the other way around. Replaced a headlight bulb, and the warning light on the dash has stayed on, have checked the other lights and all seem ok.
