Default Any astronomers on here?

I'm after a bit of advice please gents. My eldest has asked for a telescope to look at the moon but I don't want to spend more than £50 as she will more than likely get bored as soon as she has had one look at it

Can anybody point me in the direction of a half decent scope that will let her see the moon in a bit of detail? I know it's not going to be great for £50 but I don't want a plastic piece of garbage that doesn't work and I haven't got a clue what to look for when it comes to telescopes

If its just for the moon a good pair of binoculars works a treat.

And lets face it they have other uses ....

When Hale Bop was in the sky for a few months years ago my bins gave excellent views.

I use my binoculars for watching birds

Used to get some good sightings as well

Plenty of moons as well

Trouble is they draw the curtains earlier now its autumn
