Because the tourer has more weight to pull?

Hi, both manual boxes, one is a 52 plate, and the Tourer is a 52 plate. The 52 has had a new Bosch MAF,

Cheers

I don't think this is exactly what you meant to say...

I would guess that the more responsive one is the one with the new Bosch MAF - I certainly found that made a significant difference after I had the upgrade.

My initial thread stated the saloon was more responsive than my Tourer and then stated the Tourer had a new MAF fitted.

Things that I found affect responsiveness - in addition to MAF :

Intercooler O-rings.
Intercooler pipes - properly seated?
Intercooler pipes leaking oil (not holding pressure) so they balloon. Silicone pipes cure this.
Manifold clean of crud?
EGR clean of crud?
EGR fully working (not sticking)?
EGR vacuum pipes chafed - original braided blue ones often are.
Type of fuel - higher cetane rating a little more oomph in "premium fuels".
PCV filters clean?
Air filters clean?

Rev Jules.
It might just be the car & how it was driven in the early days.
I had 2 saloons both upgraded & modded in the same way.
The wife's zt was always slower then mine & just want as smooth.
Mine spent most of its early years on the motorway & the wife's was a nip around town car.
There wasn't a lot in it but you could notice the difference going from one to the other.
