Mike Noc, thanks I did not know it was a left hand thread.

I will take another look under the bonnet although the garage did say the belts are in good condition, no fraying, so shall I leave well alone?

No, I wouldn't do it for you, but I don't mind assisting you.

The belt to check is the smaller a/c belt, which wears much faster than the long one which can be more easily seen. My long one also looked fine, but I replaced both - why not, they were well out of time?
