Default Bbus problem

I had recently changed to a bbus, with new zcs coding, plugged in and working

I am now suffering from the alarm going off randomly when unlocking the car. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

The bcu is not storing any reason for the triggers, it doesn't acknowledge that the alarm has sounded.

Any ideas?

Have you got Xenons, or more specifically the washers? It was suggested to me, that my washer problem could be related to the Bbus being faulty as they are somehow linked (mine were both faulty as it turned out). If you do not have them fitted, could they be expecting the washers to be in the circuit?

I also assume you have checked for issues with the bonnet and boot locks, as well as the ultrasonic sensors too?

Yes, the only change was the addition of the bbus in the zcs coding and subsequently plugging it in. It worked ok for a few days, then rogue alarms started.

Switches are ok, there is no indication in either T4 or on the ipk led that the alarm has triggered.

Could be a faulty sounder I suppose?

sounders are cheap and plentiful on eBay. I got a bmw one for £9delivered with the shield too.

I don't know nor understand zcs coding, but could it be flawed somewhere?

additionally, since it seemingly worked ok first, could weather be a factor?

Could be unrelated Rich?

Check multi plugs on each door loom.
I've had the green gunge in a couple over the years causing false alarms.
Fill plugs with silicone grease to stop water/condensation ingress.

I may well try another sounder, there is a crack in this one.

It was the first hot day that it started playing up so I thought weather could be playing a factor. But it is now doing it when it is cold too.

Thanks Jules, I think as I tinker with things, I should be using silicone grease on multiplugs as I reassemble things. I think rot is going to start to play a bigger part in problems with our cars.
