May just be a sticky mechanism. My rear O/S door requires three presses of the fob, sometimes it does it on two. Bigruss is your man for local key related problems. |

Keyfob Problem
all buttons & key itself work as normal, just the 1st action of fob button, but you can hear it making a sound inside the door

If the driver's door unlocks with the key blade but not via the fob button or centre console switch and you can hear it do something then the locking motor mechanism itself must be broken in some way - the blade acts in a purely mechanical way, without needing the locking motors.

I can sort of guess how that happens. Think of the locking mechanism as a drop-catch system. When you press lock, it simply releases the catch and the pin drops down to lock the door. To unlock, however, you need a motor to push the pin up (likely against a spring resistance) and also engaging the catch. So maybe that's why locking is an easier job than unlocking.

Firstly you have single point entry enabled (urgh!), secondly the solenoid has failed in the drivers door.
New door lock required I'm afraid. HTH Brian |
