Three times, and drew him under in the mere.

And lightly went the other to the King.

It’s not long now Richard before Derek will be laid to rest, so to speak. I am fairly certain he’d want us to be celebrating his memory and getting on with life. It’s considerate of you, that you were thinking of him. RIP

This section just isn't what it was, without the likes of Derek,George and Stu.
The latter we can still keep in contact with via the other group, but Derek was legendary. There are some fantastic members on here, but no one could step into Derek's shoes, they are just too big to fill. I dont think anyone would feel worthy of taking over the roles he played, although he obviously held you in high esteem Phij, as he asked you to do the birthdays in his absence.
I'm sure he will be looking down on you, pleased that you are continuing his legacy.

Good morning Richard, there is nothing more that I can add to what you have said thank you, other than to say that Derek had lived a full life right up until the end. We thought he would make it back, as he still had things to do. He asked if I could do the birthdays until he got his strength up. I am hoping someone writes up a tribute in his honour and it is read out on Thursday by a member or by the celebrant doing the service.
