There are many versions of this aid available, it might be worth trying before you flog the car or divorce the Mrs

@ratchet all the Almighty God blessings on you: you saved my couple (and my 75 as well...)!
After a bit of poking about I've ordered that handybar from the flea bay:

I had a shot in my mate's "new" car today, something he chopped his six year old Mercedes C63 for.........how low

It was rather entertaining to drive, and a sight faster than anything I've driven for some time........and for some reason I didn't want to get out

After my recent major op I found getting in to my Tourer wasn't too bad,i'm 6ft 1in tall, but getting out hurt like hell around the scar at my belly until I used a walking stick. Just used the walking stick to push myself up on for a week or so.
Am ok getting in and out again now though.
Anyone who is struggling getting in and out could try the walking stick if they haven't got or until they get one of those lever things that fit on the door jamb.

Most awkward car to get in and out of that i've come across was my mates E-Type Jag !

Do you have back problems or are you just pleased to see me?

Know what you mean. I bought mine from an old codger of 80 or so whose sole reason for selling was that getting in and out was getting to be a bit of a chore. With a dodgy back myself, i now know what he means. Maybe a set of MG 18" wheels may make it a bit better.
I have a 2011 Alfa Spider that, at 6'3"" ( in old money )I just about fall into and have no problems getting out of, but as you say - massive doors seem to be the saving grace. The Alfa's days are a bit numbered. I was 61 last Sunday and whilst the Alfa has Recaro seats, I no longer have Recaro ar*e and my hair, whilst all still there is now silver. Love driving it, but think I, perhaps, look just a teeny bit desperate and daft in it. Doesn't help that it is dog's d*ck red either....
