Default Swapping a windscreen broken clip

Since the day I've bought her, I'd seen that the windscreen chrome finisher wasn't that nice.
On the upper right corner a clip is obviously broken below and the chrome finisher is lifting itself a little.

Very worrying because I've now corrected all the niggles.
This one will be - crossing fingers & the rest - the last one among those I inherited from the previous owner. A lot of them I tell ye!

Hence I've ordered & received a few clips (I hope that will be enough) from Rimmers to be fitted on the upper part & the side, and BTW a few ones as well going under the roof cantrail finisher (something's broken here as well - I'l have to inspect & take off the whole left cantrail as well).

Here is in the pic below what the Rave manual is reading, not a lot TBF.
Do I have to take off - as Rave reads - the whole upper and side parts given my concern is just in the corner (likely one only clip), at the beginning of the upper side part (driver side for my LHD car, passenger side for RHD cars)?

Is it a fiddly job that may end with several more broken clips?
The only thing I know is that I should take great care not to scratch the paint.

I've got only 2 or 3 clips of each kind and I'm fearing I may ending with a worse condition than previously.
Thanks a lot folks to give me help & hope!

I replaced a few on mine, I just took the whole three trim pieces off and cleaned everything and replaced the clips that were broken.

Start with a side piece, you can use a small flat-bladed screwdriver to open up each clip once you have the bottom end up far enough to be able to see underneath it.

I think from memory you can actually slide the top piece out once you have one of the side pieces removed.

You may find some of the windscreen sealant is in the way to stop some of the clips from coming off. But you can usually trim this back slighty.

you may get lucky and be able to remove the chrome strip without breaking any clips.
I did one and broke a lot and another and broke only 1 or 2.

good luck

Not that reassuring...
