I assume it's 120db for each of them, not divided by half.
BTW is 12V only 6V each either?
Use the zoom feature and look at the black plastic side of the picture of the horns.
60db is cast into the plastic.---------

True it reads 60 but 60B!

Funny, a Chinese typo?
But if you look at the videos on the net, exactly similar horns (same make - Snail I assume -, shape, size & connectors but colours) are given for 120db and some samples sound rather loud.

But I'll know soon: I've ordered a pair. For so cheap it's worth a try, nothing great to lose... on a spare battery first indeed...

Well, that is cheap. I hope the quality is not the same.---

£3 each------Costs that much for a cup of coffee nowadays.

Somebody, I guess, had to make them, transport them and hopefully make a profit.--

It beggars belief. Keep us posted on this one.

It's not often one gets a bargain, not even in the so-called sales that are everywhere at the moment.---

Years ago, most cars had twin horns - usually the big, old Lucas windtones with the big metal domes which give a lovely sound together. They were tuned to specific notes IIRC.

I thought standard MGR horns were loud enough already, especially when standing in front of them.

Doing a bit of digging on the OEM horns, the twin Hella horns 007-424 are 110dB but seems when they went to the single horn they also changed this to a Fiamm horn which is marginally quieter, and low note only.

https://www.hella.com/truck/assets/m...A_HORNS_GB.pdf

When I retrofitted twin horns to my '05 plate I used the twin Hellas as standard.

Put a pair of these on my Zed years back , they lasted about 18 months before they failed due to water getting in.

Got 3 x standards horns on there now ;-)

Smile

My Snail twin horns arrived yesterday obviously by not so snail a courier.
Tested on a spare battery: 90db, my phone put 2 metres far from each horn.
Bonnet open I then tested the genuine ones in a similar manner: 80db.
So little price & little gain indeed, even it isn't either 120db as featured or 60db like some had understood in the first place. Bang in the middle.
I'm not in a hurry to swap. At the moment I'm refurbishing my 'new' 2002 burr walnut & sandstone beige steering wheel that arrived yesterday.

Cool

Snail horns fitted today.
Nice gain of 10dB: from 80 to 90dB.
Not a revolution but a slight improvement all the same.
And maybe another benefit: when pushing on the buttons too long (several seconds) the fuse used to blow. No longer now.
Hence my little money wasn't wasted.
Icing on the cake: as the new horns are red & black, a lttle colour under the skirt is nice, even nobody can notice it... but only my good self who know it!
