Thanks for the responses gents, although it doesn't really answer my question
Should I bother replacing my reflectors with projectors? Or just buy more upgraded bulbs?

Thanks,

Rob

Hi Robert
I also feel the reflectors are not so efficient as I initially thought.
I think there's a significant improvement in illumination with projectors but in the end what matters is the bulb you use on it.
Have you considered a Xenon option? Try to contact Rick. He is the guy regarding headlights.

Osram & Philips are also very good
Excuse my dull-wittedness but it's still not entirely clear in my mind.
PIAA looks definitely better, shinier & more powerful than the original halogen reflectors I've got in my Mk1 Cowley built.
But in my case, to improve as much as possible, which could be the best for a direct bulb swap?
I assume that PIAA are still halogen ones.
You tell me you've factory Xenons... why then going for PIAA if the former are better?

BTW I didn't understand clearly @impvan what you told us.
In short & clear words, what does that mean and which kind of bulbs would you advise?

I'm lost...

Ok, I have factory xenon dipped beam lights, main beam are H9 halogen bulbs to which I've fitted PIAA bulbs.

Hence I assume that PIAA & the like are the best I could fit on my mk1 Cowley built, because when I ask if D2S HID Xenon bulbs are compatible with 1999 / 2000 Rover 75, the answer is nay. The socket may likely be different.

Thumbs up

Thank you soooo much for your time & patience @suzublu.
Shame that the link you gave me doesn't appear in the How-To section.
I swear I've read lots of pages before asking (as usual), but all I read made me more & more confused instead of enlightening me!

But to my discharge if that How-To gives you a clear idea of what you've got, unfortunately it isn't so clear to tell you precisely - eventually with links or pics - what you're able to fit instead of what you've got, from the most ordinary to the best, types being different (Mk1 Cowley, Mk1 Longbridge, Mk2 and maybe 75 vs ZT).
