SAF have a shop in Ilkeston and were the only place I could get a battery from quickly when the one on failed. Never had a spot of bother with Bones starting after that. But then it never got this cold while I had her. I used to have a MK2 Granada would do this from time to time and that used to get whacked with a hammer until I got it sorted!

Good job it wasn't an Austin Morris 1300 then Dawn

Update - it was the starter motor that had failed.

I can relax now, knowing it was something simple.

Update part 2 - Car should be ready by tomorrow, along with another 12 months ticket.

Crazy thing is even with all the unexpected repairs I've had to have done on top of the original issues, it's still ended up £200 cheaper than what Summit quoted me .

They didn't say, although I was getting the impression it had seized for some reason.
