Wink Good ol' Bones......

Took it to Summit to sort out the ABS fault, thinking it was the unit itself that had failed.

Nope.

In fact the drivers rear backplate had corroded to the point that some of it had broke off, damaging both the wheel bearings and the ABS sensor.

Total cost? £352.

Still, wouldn't be Bones if nothing broke!

Hi David.
What did i say to you when i last visited your house, nearly always the OS rear bearing and 99.9 it is due to rust from the back plate.

Don't worry about it Dawn, I knew what I was getting into when I bought her. Like I said it wouldn't be Bones if nothing broke., 👍

@Steve - The rear sensor was my suspicion all along, until Eurofit diagnosed it as the main Abs unit. Maybe I should just stick with Summit, as they seem to know what they are doing.

David.
John & Nick & the lads they have working for them are a good bunch at Summit, I would most certainly go there as opposed to Eurofit, Quickfit, Halfords etc.

Also do not forget you are not that far from Terry (TS Auto's) even though he is in semi retirement.

Sounds like a new pair of back plates would be a good spares investment ext year when funds allow.
