I give it four weeks until Dave's Focus is unrecognisable, there is no way that car will get away with staying original...

Generous parents Dave I bet they've given you strict orders...

Nice cars, my wife has had one for years, 56 plate but same 1.8 TDCI. Very lively compared to the Rovers!

The only non-driver induced fixes* have been a failed alternator and a split turbo hose. Come service time, read up on how to bleed them if you are changing the fuel filter because it really doesn't do self-bleeding... or even tolerate a gnat's f'art of air in the system. (Brim the filter housing with fuel and/or use mechanical suction to pull fuel through the filter.) Handbrake seems to be permanently unsatisfactory, even when adjusted at each MOT.

* excludes various wheelarch liner & undertray parts & fixings, plastic ECU housing, several bizarre punctures, recovery of stereo code, paint scuffs, and fitment of ISOFIX mountings in rear. Have to admit I was 50% responsible for the latter requirement
