New discs and pads on the ZT today. Quick easy job although one of the caliper carrier bolts is rounding off and a spring return brake is missing. Looks like I'll be calling the scrapyards tomorrow for some bits.

A quick punt to the bottom of the road and back and they will need to bed in although a good stamp got the ABS kicking in so they're doing a job fine. Pedal could feel a bit better than it currently does though - just a little bit more travel than I would like. Possibly time for a fluid change as the current stuff has likely been in for some time now.

Default fun and new stuff

so having never touched a gearbox before and with the help of ryszard who has also never touched the gearbox before we changed the 2/4 solenoid and while we had the engine cover of and the intercooper pipe off checked the EGR and it wasnt too bad however we ended up stripping it and the manifold and soaking them in dishwasher tabs while doing the gearbox ... didnt drop the gearbox oil just the front plate was careful to catch it all and measure it only 800ml with the car tilted right back so just replaced the 800ml as I intend to get Phil to do a full box oil change very soon as its black

end result a bit pokier and it changed gear nicely again now

so a good day

the offending item

the state of the gear box oil

hey thats not the gearbox you're stripping

somewhere in here is a manifold and EGR

sparkly ..well more so anyway would have spent more time on it but need the car back together

Did the dishwasher tabs clean all the oily crud from the inside of the manifold without you having to do much physical cleaning?

Daz.
When you soaked the EGR did you seal of the diaphragm pipe ? if not you could have trouble with it at a later date maybe perishing, unless dishwasher tablets do not affect rubber.
