Well well, never knew that. Not much info on their site about obsolete gearboxes though, they seem to be throw away items these days?

One of the many customers I used to visit in the days when I had a proper job

The workshop in which I was part of a small specialist team within the company (Stewart-Warner) was called the FoMoCo room

Having said that, factory automation revolving around car assembly plant was not related to Ford solely, I've been inside every major car manufacturing plant in the UK.

Mind you at that time the R8 was the new car being produced at Longbridge, and they still made Montego at Cowley

There was the Phantom, which was a quite a tidy little coupé. Originally designed to have the KV6 in the back and moved on to Ford units. I got very close to buying one some years ago.

GTM also did a version of the Libra for the KV6.

They don't come much more special, or for that matter faster, than the Metro 6R4.
