Default Mouse repellent?

After today's underbonnet oil leak and small fire (alternator bolt missing -> cracked head ), I was looking for a silver lining.... And I found it.

I saw that the top bleed hose was nearly chewed through, the water pipe on the front of the turbo likewise, the rubber cap on the alternator terminal now just looks like an elastic band, and there's a bit of loom damage too.

So, at least I only caught fire 300m from home, and didn't die of 'dehydration' on the motorway.

My question is - is there anything to spray around the engine bay to stop the little b*ggers nibbling? I've just checked the Polo, and they've been at the wiring there, too.
