G'day one and all - looks like a canny day out there, and the cold wind seems to have abated at last.
I'm afraid I'm off to another funeral this morning. The oldest member of my Club has died - 99 years young. If he'd lived 'til September, he would have qualified for a telegram from the Queen, but it was not to be. He was a regular visitor to the Club, usually driving there in his own car; two halves of lager was his limit, but he would stay for ages after the glass was drained, regaling us with stories of him being in the RAF (playing football in the same Forces team as Stanley Matthews!) and the many years he spent as a publican. A real character was Mr Jack McDonald - his wit will be sadly missed by all us youngsters.

Sorry to read of your friends passing Rod.
It sounds like he led a wonderful life for his 99 years though.
May he rest in peace.

Afternoon all, It's like a spring day out there today, Got the job of cleaning out the grids Yuck! they were full of unspeakable muck
also got the old roach pole out with a sponge tied to the top to clean the upstairs windows.
Mowed the lawns too, the grass was 4" tall

Same here. Confined to barracks due to the electrical work going on, some tests/checks they may or may not have to do. Replacing a nearby transformer that feeds the museum and cottages.

I feel justified in my choice of 'shorts' wearing today.

After the early fog burnt off it has been around 13c and a lovely sunny day

Evening all, it's been the nicest day of the year so far here, still not shorts weather, in fact I don't own a pair ......probably best I don't inflict my legs on the general public as they're fricknin' (frightening) as we say here.

I've just helped my missus renew her driving licence online, she wasn't to happy about being 70 years young

I've made a roast beef dinner for tea to cheer her up.

Just took this screen grab from one of my videos from Tuesday.

This is Lady Emma with my friend Ian Stewart at the helm with me out on deck filming.
We have just finished the speed run over Breydon Water and emerged from under Breydon lift bridge.

I'm out on the deck ready to lower the navigation mast (vhf whip aerials already lowered) before going under the much lower Vauxhall rail and Acle road bridges in Great Yarmouth
