Rogerf,

must have a diff suspension setup on the MkII as I've had my 260 nearly two weeks, live in a town & have no problem with the roads. Yes, I go very slow over speedbumps, but that's it.

260 litres of custard when changing gear? Mine seems to pick up quite well, it's not a snappy hot hatch, but I suppose it was designed by MG-R to be a motorway cruiser/bruiser. And I'm quite happy with it like this, cos I didn't want a snappy hot hatch.

Steve.

(My previous ZT 190+ V6 was a bit livelier but what's the hurry?)

Default Steve

Perhaps they did soften the suspension on the Mk2 although road tests ive read on the facelift did comment on stiff ride.I have tried to like this car but after a year the honeymoons over.

Bought on 07/07/07.

Suspension is the same on MK1 as the MK2. I found it gets better with speed
But err... ok, so it can get a bit lumpy on the real bumby stuff but I find it soaks most bumps up nicely and remains planted all the time. No, its not got super soft squishy suspension like some of the other big cars, but I prefer being able to go round corners without falling out of the passenger door more to my taste...

Yup, Gear change is quite slow and it takes a while for the engine to 'rev down' but its all characteristcs of the big gearbox that mates with the big torquey V8. The accufab throttle body and plenium is reported to make nice improvements here though...

but I guess as the saying goes... 'different strokes for different folks'
