Default Engine Check light

I think I might have found the spot?

Hi! Again! I sent the enquiry below the other day and received the reply shown. I’m afraid, as a not very computer wise pensioner I cannot find ‘the appropriate forum’
Please advise as soon as possible,
Mike

All Technical/sourcing of parts, general questions etc. are dealt with

and the members will come up with the answers.

The Contact us e-mail function is not used for this purpose.

However there are lots of threads covering your problems/query. Do a

Hi Mike and Welcome..

Did the engine light come on before you did your servicing or since? Also is it on all the time?

One of the reasons for that light to come on, assuming it has happened since you did the servicing, would be the electrical connector for the sensor on top of the fuel filter housing might not be making a good connection.

Is the car starting up OK as soon as you turn the ignition?

Smile Engine Check light

Thanks for your reply.
The car starts very well - no problems.
And it runs well until the light comes on, when we have a slight power loss. It is not a regular on / off just now and then. So I think your conclusions will be correct. I have looked at the cable connection, given it a wipe and a spray of WD 40. I also found that the cable was a little taught on the plug so I have pulled the harness through the clip a to ease the tension.

I think that will help if not cure the problem.
Once again Thanks!
Mike
