You can never let a car with an Aubergine interior go for scrap Rob!

As already said, it doesn't sound like a huge repair job. Tedious if you have another car and were waiting to sell this one though.
However, if it were me, I'd do the work, - DIY can only be £100-£200 max, surely - MOT it and get the maximum price selling the car. Mind you, it's a real pity that breaking is a cost effective option too. Especially with that lovely interior. That would surely fetch a good price in itself. Do whatever you feel is right Rob but please, think about keeping the car running for the sake of the marque.

thinking about it there is a big down side to breaking a car, even if i do get £150 for the interior i might still be left with the rest of the car.

I cannot believe that a list of really quite small jobs leads an owner to want to scrap the car. After all, it has passed on everything else. And most of the things on the list are consumables which need to be regularly replaced anyway, like brake pads.
On the rear exhaust, it would have been better if MG Rover had made this of stainless, but there we are, they didn't, but they are available on the 'after market'. . |

Yeah, I feel like that about cars. Upset to see viable ones broken up. If I had more space and more time, I'd take it on, but as I already have three cars in bits it's not going to happen. I am serious about the pipes, though. I was advised to wire brush and grease. Very glad I didn't. |
