Default Call me Tom...

Or Mr. Cruise, if you like - because I now have cruise control.

Following on from this and this, I installed the bits this morning and it worked .

It functions in the same fashion as Bigruss has said in a previous thread:

Press Set - Cruise set at current speed.
Repeatedly press Set - incremently increases cruise speed.
Press and hold Set - increases cruise speed until released.
Use accelerator for less than 30 secs - cruise resumes at previous speed.
Brake and clutch switches work as they should - suspends cruise.
Press Res.- suspends cruise.
Press Set - cruise resumes at current speed
Press RES. twice - cancels cruise, light goes out, can then only be reset by the master switch.

Total cost - £55, although I had to buy a trip computer stalk as I was using one of the CC steering switches for that. Took about 20 mins to fit (once I had found the wiring behind the dash). An excellent result, I think.

Unfortunately the trip computer stalk I got was faulty - it will not lock in the up position. The eBay Seller will replace it but I have to send it back.

Anyone know if the end bit (with the trip button) can be removed?

Nice one.

Of course it would be nice if you'd taken some pictures!

I'm hoping to fit mine this weekend if all the gear arrives.

No need for pics, Rob . This was probably the easiest retro-fit I have done.

All just plug and play i.e. plug in the ECU behind the glovebox and plug the switch into the dash wiring.

If you would like some pics let me know. I still have the dash and glovebox removed.

I don't have the bracket for the ecu, is there space to tape the ecu in place while I source the bracket?

There seem to be oodles of space. In fact, the bracket seems to be a bit OTT size wise. I reckon a 4 inch furniture bracket could be bent into shape for the same purpose.

I'll take a pic when the rain stops.

Eammon

Isn't it about time you spent some more money on that car?

VERY pleased to hear that it works though

Great news Eamonn, enjoy!!!!!
I think you'll agree it has to be one of the most worthwhile, simple and least expensive upgrades.

Looking forward to hearing good news from others.

Shhhhh....the wifes about  . I don't think there really is much more I can add at this stage. Then again, I said that before the FBH. Actually now I think of it, Paul, its your fault I now have a working FBH . I had no idea what a Webasto was until you put your T100 up for sale. Once I found out what the FBH did, I just had to have one.

Thanks Russ, and thanks for all your help also.

I agree 1000% that this is probably the most worthwhile, simple and least expensive retro-fits that I have done. £55 and 20 minutes work - I recommend it to everyone.
